Workshop On “How To Organize Support Groups For Women And Girls Gbv Survivors Or At Risk Of Gbv Using A Survivor-Centered Approach”

ABAAD-Resource Center for Gender Equality in partnership with UNICEF is planning to conduct a Four-full day’s workshop on “How to Organize Support Groups for Women and Girls GBV Survivors or at Risk using a survivor centered approach” over November 10,11,12 &13 2015 in Beirut (at Radisson Blu Martinez Hotel).
The overall objective of the workshop is to reinforce the capacity of the participants in planning and implementing support group’s sessions with women and girls survivors or at risk of violence using a survivor centered approach
More specifically, the training will be providing a platform where participants will:

Have a better understanding of the different psychosocial and contextual considerations in emergency  and refugee settings related to GBV and CP;
Be sensitized to the Survivor centered approach and to the role of the support group facilitator
 Have a better understanding of the process of support group planning, implementation and documentation in general;
Be aware of the necessity of their own “self-care” while working with survivors.

The training is geared toward social workers and service providers fulfilling the following requirements:

Operating in North, Bekaa & South;
Working as social worker/ support groups facilitators or psychologist with GBV survivors;
Working with women & girls.
