Abaad & Hivos || Call For Participation || Training On How To Organize Support Groups For Women Survivors Of Gbv Using A Survivor-Centered Approach

ABAAD-Resource Center for Gender Equality in partnership with HIVOS is planning to conduct a three-full day’s training on “How to Organize Support Groups for Women Survivors of GBV Using a Survivor-Centered Approach” on December 9th,10th and 11th at Hotel Holiday Inn - Dunes, Verdun, Beirut. The training hours will be from 9AM until 4PM.
 The overall objective of the workshop is to reinforce the capacity of participants in planning and facilitating support group sessions with women survivors of Gender Based Violence (GBV) using a survivor-centered approach.
More specifically, the training will be providing a platform where participants will:

Have a better understanding of GBV and the different psychosocial and contextual considerations in humanitarian and refugee settings;
Have a better understanding of the survivor-centered approach;
Have a better understanding of the process of support group planning, implementation and documentation;
Strengthen their communication skills in order to increase their capacity to facilitate support groups’ sessions;
Have a better understanding of the necessity of their own “self-care” while working with survivors.

The training is geared towards experienced service providers fulfilling the following requirements:

Working as social worker, case management or psychologist with woman and girls GBV survivors;
Have at least 2 years working experience with Syrian women & girls;
Must be working within Lebanon and is committed to attend ALL training hours
